The theme of the Empire Brewing Company is that of a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a focus on a moderately priced eclectic menu complemented by a diverse selection of freshly brewed premium beer.
The atmosphere is simple, casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glassed enclosed work area enhancing the dramatic visual effect of the massive stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open performance kitchen allowing patrons clear visibility of the chef and his assistants.
The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, and the drama of the performance kitchen as well as the existing architectural nuances of the buildings structure, such as exposed brick walls, wood beams and columns. The design intent is to be timeless and understated, allowing for the interior to pay homage to the brewing tradition and architecture of the space. Clarity is the aim: materials and ambient lighting, the accent. The goal is to create a warm and inviting environment of unique yet simple style and long-term viability.
The food menu can be best described as innovative American fare with regional influences. Our creative culinary skills have been honored and recognized over the years by: The Beer Advocate - Top Twenty Brewpubs in America (2003); The New Brewer - Top Twenty Brewpubs in the US (2001, 2002, 2003); Best Restaurants in America 'Where the Locals Eat' (1996, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001, 2002), The Excelsior Award, Best Restaurant - The New Yorker (1997), and the Food Networks 'Dinning Around' (2000, 2001) - Best Brewpub in the Country.The showcased microbrewery operation creates a unique ambiance, engendering ardent interest as patrons can actually view the brewing process. The Brewery is capable of producing a wide array of ales and lagers with 6 -8 styles on tap at any particular time. There will be four flagship brews that will be available year round, they will consist our classic and most popular styles; Award Winning Skinny Atlas Light [Gold Medal, GABF - 1997 & World Beer Cup - 1998; Bronze Metal GABF - 2001 & World Beer Cup - 1998], Empire Amber Ale, Black Magic Stout [Gold Medal, World Beer Cup - 1997], Hefe Weizen [Bronze Medal, GABF - 1995; Gold Medal, GABF - 1996; Bronze Medal, World Beer Cup - 1997]. To augment the flagship menu we introduce a diverse selection of special seasonal brews such as; a springtime bock, robust Oktoberfest and spiced winter ale.
